Shelling Expedition

Shelling ExpeditionSC’s rich ecosystem provides a variety of unique marine mollusks that leave behind a legacy of beautiful shells. Accessible only by water, we’ll journey to a remote barrier island known for it’s shells. Shells are important to our delicate coastline. We encourage photos and apply collecting limits to help conserve the beach and its inhabitants for future generations.

Multiple parties onboard. Private options available upon request. Price: $450 (1-6ppl), $75 each additional adult, $65 each additional child (ages 3-11).

Numerous boats available with capacities ranging from 11-49 guests. Duration: 2 hours.

Available weekly, but only upon request in the winter (besides holiday weeks).


Kiawah’s Deadliest Catch

Deadliest CatchJoin us for a family friendly crabbing experience aboard our shallow draft bay boat as we cruise along the Kiawah River in search of the perfect crabbing location. Once our search has been narrowed down, we’ll disembark and try our luck using hand-lines and nets to capture the sometimes elusive Atlantic Blue Crab.

River BirdingThe Kiawah River and its surrounding tidal creeks, oyster beds, and mud flats provide an abundant array of migratory, shore, and wading birds. Come join us as we cruise the saltmarsh and witness the daily life of the river’s avian species.

Holy City Harbor Cruise

Come join us as we travel the backwaters of the Kiawah and Stono rivers into the historic Charleston Harbor. During the hour long journey to the harbor, we’re sure to encounter some of the lowcountry’s spectacular avian and marine life along the banks of the river. Once we’ve reached the harbor, we’ll see where pirates fought, where the first shots of the civil war were fired, and the numerous steeples highlighting Charleston’s skyline. Get a close up look at Castle Pinckney, Ft. Sumter, and the USS Yorktown as your captain navigates around the downtown peninsula. From pirate and ghost stories to rich Charleston history and marine heritage, this tour is a great way to see the holy city from the water.

Deveaux Bank Seabird Sanctuary

PelicansThe Lowcountry salt marsh and its surrounding tidal creeks, oyster beds, and mud flats provide an abundant array of migratory, shore, and wading birds. Come join us as we cruise the river on our way to the Southeast’s largest shorebird nesting site, Deveaux Bank. Located at the mouth of the North Edisto River, this sandspit island provides vital habitat to thousands of nests of dozens of different species of migratory and ground nesting shore birds.

Tideland Treasures
