Fourth Annual Women's Escape Weekend

Presented by The Sanctuary and co-sponsored by charleston magazine and the Center for Women, this weekend concentrated on the focus on "You". Women traveled from all over the country, bringing together friends and family. The weekend began with charleston magazine's style editor, Ayoka Lucas, who explained the new trends for 2007 and the do's and dont's in today's fashion. Saturday started off with an encouraging presentation from Jennet Alterman with Charleston's Center for Women. For lunch, The Sanctuary's chefs created a culinary workshop with interaction from the audience and recipes and ideas the attendees could take home. Margaret Hoyback took over the afternoon with a delightful painting demonstration. During their free afternoon, attendees relaxed in the Spa, attended a "how to beat men at pool" workshop, got made up by AVEDA experts or participated in a yoga session. A night of indulgence began with a Krug champagne tasting and continued with a delightful dinner and one-on-one time with Author Joshilyn Jackson. Sunday's program consisted of a gardening presentation, a flower-arranging workshop; and, as the focus on "you" began with fashion, it also ended with fashion as St. John Knits presented a packing seminar. Not only was the weekend filled with activities, but also many prizes were given away to several lucky winners.

Attendees enjoyed the rest of their evening either on the island or in Charleston, only a short drive away.
