Teen and Youth Activities are a great way to experience Kiawah and to meet new friends. Activities are held throughout the summer and during all major holidays.
All events take place at Night Heron Park, unless otherwise noted. Youth programs are designed for ages 7-12. Teen programs are designed for ages 13-18. Recreation staff is present; however, youth and teens are not individually supervised. Please note that the following schedule is subject to change. Call (843) 768-6001 for more information.

Teens only! Pool party! Play games, relax with friends, make new friends, and enjoy our pool at the Night Heron Park. Admission is complimentary, all teens welcome.
Mondays, 9:30pm - 11pm, 13-18 years old.
Meet in Night Heron Park to enjoy games such as corn hole, ladder golf, Kan Jam, washers and more! Come wearing your favorite sports team’s colors and compete against other teens in these friendly competitions. Soft drinks, snacks, and ice cream floats will be available for purchase. Admission is complimentary, all teens welcome.
Tuesdays, 9am - 1pm, 10-17 years old.
New for 2014! Our Surf camp is great for all skill levels. In this camp, participants will learn the technique to surfing, including how to pop up, how to maintain and wax the boards, as well as how to paddle and catch waves! Come ready to dodge and shoot while mixing it up with other teens on the island! Meet at Night Heron Park stage. Admission is complimentary, all teens welcome.
A new, exciting, fast-paced beach game, Spike Ball is played with a hoop-sized net at ankle level between a pair of two-player teams. The ball is hit down toward the net so it ricochets up at your opponents. Meet at the Sanctuary Beach access. Admission is complimentary, all teens welcome.
Wednesdays, 9:30pm - 11pm
Come over to the Night Heron Park volleyball court for a game of glow in the dark volleyball and capture the flag! Admission is complimentary; all teens welcome.
Thursdays, 4pm - 5pm, 7-12 years old.
Come with a team or solo to make some friends. Teams will be divided into age brackets: 7-9 & 10-12. Winning teams of the single elimination tournament will receive a prize. Meet at the Night Heron Park Basketball Court. Admission is complimentary; for ages 7-12.
Thursdays, 9pm - 11pm, 13-18 years old.

Time for the kids to get out and have an adventure of their own. After some quick tips, it’s time to jump in your own boat and have some fun on the water. From races in the river to some fun in the mud, you’re sure to make some new friends while on this trip! This trip is done in single kayaks. $55/person. $50 for KIGR guests and KICA members. Tour time is dependent on the tide, call for schedule, 843.768.6001.

Would you be able to survive on Kiawah without today’s technologies? During this adventure, learn the skills needed to survive on a barrier island. Naturalists will guide you through a hike to help you discover food and water then show you how to identify venomous snakes. Finally, you will be able to make your very own shelter using materials from the natural environment. $30.
Thursdays, 1:30pm - 3:30pm, 13-17 years old.
Test your navigation skills and embark on a scavenger hunt on Kiawah Island by bicycle. Learn the techniques of using a compass and reading a map and combining those to find your way to secret locations. Naturalists will accompany you while you explore the Island by bicycle to find the various checkpoints. $30/person. (Does NOT include bike rental.)
