Paddling Tours at Kiawah Island

The following paddling tours are two hours long. We highly recommend shoes that are secure to your feet, flip-flops and slides are not recommended. Suggested experience level and age requirements are listed under each tour description. Tour times vary daily, please visit the Heron Park Nature Center for a weekly schedule or contact the Resort’s Recreation Department at 843.768.6001. Canoe tours are available upon request, please check with the Nature Center for canoe tour availability. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for all paddle tours. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Resort guests and Property Owners: $50 per person. Guests renting through outside rental agencies: $55 per person. $30 for all participants 3 – 11 years old.

June 1- June 15: Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday; 9am - 2pm
June 16 - August 15: Sunday - Friday; 9am - 2pm
August 16 – August 31: Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday; 9 am – 2 pm

Rentals are first come first serve and will leave from the Mingo Point launch site, located on the right after entering the Mingo entrance. Rentals include, kayak, life vest, paddle, map and instructions. Crabbing equipment is also available for rent with your kayak and although crabbing is not allowed at Mingo Point, our maps will provide the appropriate areas. Last rental of the day should be back no later than 4 pm. Rentals outside the 9am - 4pm time frame may be accommodated upon availability for an additional $15. Weather Dependant: Rentals may be cancelled due to wind and rain, please call the Nature Center 843.768.6001 for updates.

Requirements & recommendations: Previous kayaking experience strongly recommended. We highly recommend shoes that are secure to your feet (flip-flops and slides are not recommended), clothes you can get wet, water and sunscreen. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. $40/single & $60/double kayak for a 2-hour rental; $10 for each additional hour. Crabbing Equipment: $10/net & hook (bait not included). Staffing is based on weather conditions, and launching during unstaffed hours is prohibited. The Nature Program also allows you to lauch your personal kayak during staffed hours.  Launch Fee: $5/kayak. Launching outside the 9 am – 4 pm time frame may be available upon request for an additional $15 fee. Please contact the Nature Center for any additional questions
