The Tommy Cuthbert Golf Learning center offers state-of-the-art video instruction technology designed to improve your swing, as well as current golf fitting systems. Director of Golf
After serving as Head Professional of The Ocean Course for 11 years, Gerard was named Kiawah Island Golf Resort's Director of Golf in 2006. A graduate of Western Illinois University, Gerard joined the Kiawah team in 1986. He served as the Head Professional at Turtle Point for five years before being named the Head Professional at The Ocean Course in 1995. He has been a PGA member since July 1989 and is a certified Master Professional in General Management. He was named Carolinas PGA Merchandiser of the Year in 2005 and National PGA Merchandiser of the Year in 2006. He is a member of the Carolinas PGA Board of Directors. Gerard and his wife Lynn have been married since 1993.
Head Professional, The Ocean Course
Youngner has been at Kiawah since 1997 where he began his career at Osprey Point, serving as first assistant for four years before being named head professional at Oak Point in August of 2003. In September of 2006, he became the Head Golf Professional at The Ocean Course. While in the PGA of America’s Professional Golf Management Program, he was awarded the prestigious Titleist/Foot-Joy Apprentice Scholarship for outstanding achievement. He became a PGA Member in May 2003 and has achieved certification in both General Management and Golf Operations. Youngner attended the University of Georgia. He and his wife Sara have been married since 2002.
Head Professional, Oak Point
Ammon returns to Kiawah Island Golf Resort after serving as the First Assistant Professional for the past two years at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Scott began his career at Kiawah as an Assistant Professional at Osprey Point from 1998-2000 & then as the First Assistant Professional at Cougar Point from 2000-2004. He has been a PGA Member since August 2004 when was awarded the Titleist/Foot-Joy Apprentice Scholarship for outstanding achievement.
Head Professional, Turtle Point
While Schaffer came to Turtle Point from The Ocean Course where he has served as first assistant professional since 2003. However, he’s no stranger to this stellar Jack Nicklaus design as it is where he started his employment with Kiawah Island Golf Resort in 1997. He served as first assistant from 1999 to 2003 prior to his move to The Ocean Course. Schaffer earned his PGA membership in 2004 and is certified in General Management and Golf Operations. He was named as one of the "Top 25 Assistant Golf Professionals" by Golf Shop magazine earlier this year. Schaffer attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University on a golf scholarship. He and his wife, Lisa, have been married since 1997 and have one son.

Born and raised just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, Jim attended Kent State University and had been Head Professional of Cougar Point for 11 years before his current position at Osprey Point. He has been a PGA member since 1989. Jim is now certified by the PGA in executive management and golf course ownership and leasing. He is only one of six, along with Blake Cathey, PGA professionals in the country certified in all six categories of the PGA certification program.

Ferguson started at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in 1988. In that time he served as the First Assistant at each Osprey Point, Turtle Point, and Cougar Point. Since becoming a Class A PGA Member in 1996, Ferguson has held the position of Head Professional at three of the Resort’s five golf courses; Turtle Point (11⁄2 years), Oak Point (11⁄2 years), and Cougar Point since March of 2000. In 2006, Ferguson earned PGA Certification in General Management. Before coming to Kiawah, he worked at two Charleston area golf courses. Ferguson is married, and the father of a son and daughter.
Golf Course Superintendent, The Ocean Course
A Graduate with honors of Lake City Community College Turf Program, Stone joined the Kiawah team in 1989. He served as Head Golf Course Superintendent at Cougar Point from 1990 until 1992 and Turtle Point from 1992 until 2003 before assuming his roll as Head Golf Course Superintendent of The Ocean Course in 2003. Stone worked with Jack Nicklaus on Turtle Point course renovations in 2000 and with Pete Dye on his 2004 course renovations at The Ocean Course. Stone has been a Class A GCSAA member for 16 years. He and his wife, Ashley, have two children.

Agazzi has been at Kiawah since 1993 where he began his career at Turtle Point, serving as first assistant for 7 years prior to becoming the Head Golf Course Superintendent at Cougar Point in May of 2000. He returned to Turtle Point in 2002 as Head Golf Course Superintendent. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Agazzi grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1992 and is a Class A GCSAA member. Agazzi has a son and a daughter.
Golf Course Superintendent, Osprey Point
Miller is a 1986 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University turfgrass program. He has been at Kiawah since 1987, were he has served as Superintendent at The Ocean Course, Cougar Point, Turtle Point and Osprey Point. Miller has been a Class A GCSAA member for over 20 years. Miller and his wife, Carolyn, have a son and two daughters.
Golf Course Superintendent, Cougar Point
A graduate of The Ohio State University, French earned a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture and worked for the Athletic Department at OSU before joining the Kiawah team in 1995 as Assistant Superintendent at Marsh Point (Cougar Point). French served as Superintendent at Oak Point for 3 years before moving to Cougar Point in 2003. French has been a Class A member of CGCAA since 2001 and is CGCS Certified since 2004 (one of only four CGCS Certified superintendents in the Charleston area and one of only 1,500 nationwide). French and his wife, Bridget, have a son and a daughter.
Golf Course Superintendent, Oak Point
After graduating from the Lake City Community College Turf Program in 1996, Lance took the Assistant Superintendent job at the Mountain View Golf Course in Pine Mountain, GA. While there the course hosted the PGA Buick Challenge and worked with Clyde Johnston on two golf course renovations projects. In 2002, he joined the Kiawah Island team and became the Assistant Superintendent at Osprey Point until becoming the Head Golf Course Superintendent at Oak Point in March 2013. He has been a member of the GCSAA for 13 years. He and his wife Amy have a daughter.
