Yesterday evening kicked off our first Sunset Raw Bar of the season at The Ocean Course! Every Thursday from now through August 28th, the Ryder Cup Bar at The Ocean Course will be hosting their popular Sunset Raw Bar on the veranda of the clubhouse.
Driving to the tip of Kiawah Island, all the way to the Ocean Course…windows rolled down, the smell of salty air filling your lungs, and the sun is shining. As you walk up to the clubhouse passing the perfectly manicured lawn, you hear the sounds of a jazz guitar, half of the guests are unwinding with a cocktail in the Adirondack chairs by the putting green while the other half are coming in off the 18th green…life is good!
As you make your way through the clubhouse and walk outside on to the veranda, the raw bar is set up showcasing numerous East Coast oysters chilling on ice. In addition to oysters, a full selection of raw bar specialties are available…ceviche, shellfish shooters, lobster sliders, peel & eat shrimp and tuna tartare. There are three smiling faces behind the raw bar ready to shuck the night away! To the right, a jazz guitarist is strumming sweet melodies as guests sip their cocktails and wind down after their eventful day on the resort.
Chef Jonathan Banta and his team have been hosting the Sunset Raw Bar for 4 years now and it is definitely a Thursday evening favorite to returning guests and full-time residents on the island.
Your table awaits…so come out, sit back, watch the sun set and enjoy the succulent texture and strong taste of the sea at our Sunset Raw Bar.
