“You know spring has sprung when strawberries start to fill the farmers stand,” said Lesly. Recently, she visited Ambrose Farms during their ‘U Pick’ season and gathered bushels of fresh, off the vine strawberries to incorporate in her new beverage.
“I wanted to create a refreshing cocktail using local strawberries and Carpano Bianco Vermouth. Vermouth is probably the most under-appreciated alcohol in the world. It has everything required to make a balanced cocktail. It was originally used for medicinal purposes but is mostly known as an *aperitif. In The Cat’s Meow I have juiced local strawberries and fresh lemon, added lavender bitters and house made grenadine. To finish this delicious cocktail off I rimmed the glass with lavender sugar and a strawberry. And let me tell you… this is indeed The Cat’s Meow!”
