With Easter right around the corner, we wanted to tell you a little bit about the Mingo Point Oyster Roast and BBQ, whose Easter Oyster Roasts are happening on April 17 and April 21!
So, what is the Mingo Point Oyster Roast and BBQ? Well, in short, it’s a Lowcountry Family Tradition!
In fact, it’s Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s longest running — not to mention most popular! — event. You’ll enjoy freshly roasted oysters and Bar-B-Que, live entertainment, a kid’s “cool zone,” Kiawah’s Naturalists presenting live reptiles and gators, a local artisan craft market, and so much more!
Have you ever had freshly roasted oysters? If not, you’re in for a treat! Roasted oysters are a Southern coastal tradition, and oysters from the warmer Southern water are a bit sweeter and meatier than the oysters from colder water that you may be used to.
Roasting them lets them steam in their own juices, creating a culinary experience you won’t soon forget!
But it’s not just oysters! You’ll also enjoy plenty of other Southern specialties, like ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken, steaks, loaded potato skins, and a bounty of side dishes, salads, and desserts.
Are you excited for a Mingo Point Oyster Roast and BBQ yet? We’ll bet you are!
