Some of you pool-goers may recognize a familiar face this season…Chris Buck, formerly the Supervisor of Night Heron Grill, has quickly made his way up the career ladder to earn the position of Night Heron Grill Manager!
Having held numerous food and beverage positions at the resort, from food runner to server to bartender, Chris has made his way to his new management role. Chris graduated from The University of Mississippi last year with a B.A. in Hospitality Management; working hard to learn the ins and outs of Kiawah’s F&B he has proven that he is ready for the next chapter in his career at the Resort. Switching gears and moving from the Ryder Cup Bar to Night Heron Grill was hard, “I’ll miss the valuable wine education offered at Ocean Course F&B, and the view – it’s tough to beat that setting”. But he’s looking forward to the busy season upon us and the great weather that it brings!
With the renovation and opening of the Night Heron Family Pool and Children’s Pool in 2012, the Night Heron Grill has seen a great rise in numbers with former Grill Manager, Julie Lee. Chris stated, “I hope to build on the success that Night Heron Grill’s previous managers have worked very hard to achieve. The position presents a unique opportunity to learn about the industry, and I hope to take full advantage of that”.
Chris will take full responsibility of Night Heron Grill on April 1st, when you’re at Night Heron getting your daily fix of Jerk Chicken Wraps, Retro Wedge Salads or the new Gator Bites…please congratulate him on his new position! Best of luck Mr. Buck!
