Greetings! I would like to formally introduce you to our newest Sushi Chef at The Ocean Room restaurant, Chef Awal P. Sitepe… but you may call him Chef Badi (sounds like Body)!
Chef Badi has been mastering the art of sushi for the past 9 years throughout Charleston. “My style of sushi I would say is a combination of classic and modern sushi, which I like to call ‘creative sushi’,” states Badi.
Recently Chef Jason and Chef Badi have rewritten the menu in the Sushi Lounge at The Ocean Room, which introduces Badi’s creative sushi style. Some of the newest items to be on the look out for are-
Plate 1: Lady Marmalade- Crab, topped with Tuna, Salmon, White Fish, Eel Sauce, Sriacha Tempura then an assortment of Chef’s daily special selections
Plate 2: (Left) Alaskan- Salmon, Cream Cheese, Avocado, Masago, Spicy Mayo
(Top) Super Crunch- Tuna, Spicy Mayo, topped with Shrimp and Eel Sauce
(Right) Romain Lettuce Spring Roll- Choice of Tuna, Shrimp, Vegetables
Plate 3: (Left) Beef Tataki- Asparagus, Green Onions, topped with Beef Tataki and Wasabi Cream
(Right) Valcano- Spicy Tuna, Asparagus, topped with Scallop, Shrimp, Masago, Spicy Mayo
(Bottom) Tuna- Spicy Tuna, Avocado, Benne Seeds
