Welcome to the Kiawah Resort Blog!

 Umbrella

Kiawah Island is a very special place.  It is a multi-dimensional destination with world-class golf and tennis, one of America’s top beaches, abundant natural beauty, one of the world’s top hotels and spa.  The resort’s restaurants have achieved national acclaim and it’s nature and family programs are second to none.  All this on an island that lives in harmony with the natural environment – not forced upon it.  It doesn’t hurt that it’s also just 21 miles from beautiful and historic Charleston, South Carolina, voted the second best destination in the U.S. by readers of both Conde Nast Traveler (behind San Francisco) and Travel + Leisure magazine (behind New York City).

The aim of Kiawah Island Golf Resort new blog is to pull back the curtain – to see the island through the eyes of the people that know it best – long-time employees from departments all across the resort.  We have representatives from golf, tennis, recreation, our nature & recreation staff, hotel and villa staff, spa staff, chefs, even the resort’s PR flak!  We’ll also have guest bloggers ranging from PGA Tour professionals, renowned chefs and musicians, and much, much more.   We’ll bring you stories on diverse topics that will be of interest to everyone who loves Kiawah Island and the South Carolina Lowcountry.  Best of all, we will give you the opportunity to join in on the conversation, state your opinions and ask questions.  We’ll do our best to keep you up-to-date with all the island happenings and how they may relate to your everyday world.

We hope you enjoy this unique blog and we look forward to having a conversation with you.  Now, let’s blog!
