AirTran Airways announced it would begin service to Charleston International Airport (CHS) on May 24. Initially, it will provide non-stop daily service between Charleston and Atlanta Hartsfield International, with two more flights beginning June 7. Introductory fares begin at $59 one-way. This news has already seen some of Charleston's existing carriers (which include Delta, US Airways, Continental, United, American and Northwest) begin to lower prices.
